Frequently Asked Questions

WeAreALERT.org was founded by a small group of professionals concerned about the erosion of democratic guardrails in the United States. The initiative is structured as an LLC for operational clarity and liability protection. Founding members and advisors are listed on the About page.
LinkedIn is a professional platform, but professional institutions rely on democratic norms. When rule of law, institutional independence, and truthful leadership are under strain, professionals have a legitimate interest in making their principles visible. This is not partisan politics — it is the basic framework that makes stable commerce and governance possible.

Public expression can carry professional risk. Participation in WeAreALERT.org is entirely voluntary, and each professional must determine their own level of visibility. That's why we offer multiple options — from a subtle URL in your headline to a formal signed statement.

At the same time, remaining silent in moments of institutional strain can also carry risk. When professionals consistently avoid affirming shared civic guardrails, that absence can help normalize abuses of power and weaken the norms that support economic stability and institutional trust.

WeAreALERT.org does not prescribe how anyone should act. It simply creates a visible way for those who choose to speak to do so.

No. WeAreALERT.org is not affiliated with any political party, candidate, campaign, or PAC. The principles in the ALERT statement — rule of law, independent institutions, democratic integrity — are foundational values shared across the political spectrum. We do not endorse candidates or engage in electoral campaigning.
When you submit the Sign the Statement form, we send a verification link to your email. Clicking that link confirms your signature. Only verified signatures are counted in public totals. Names are displayed publicly only after both verification and a brief manual review — which helps maintain the credibility of the list.
Your email is used only to verify your signature and to send occasional updates about the ALERT initiative. It is never sold, shared with third parties, or published. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Our immediate focus is visible professional signaling. If participation reaches scale, we may convene professionals, publish collective letters, or engage institutional leaders directly. We do not engage in electoral campaigning, and we will not become a PAC or endorse candidates.
